The GE Fanuc IC697CMM742 TCP/IP Ethernet (Type 2) Interface Module is an Ethernet interface module that is designed for the GE Series 90-30 PLC systems. The IC697CMM742 Module is designed for the high-performance IC697 PLC CPUs that are versi*** 6.00 and later. The IC697CMM742 TCP/IP Ethernet (Type 2) Interface Module is installed on the GE Series 90-70 PLC rack, and it requires +5 Volts DC and +12 Volts DC voltage from the PLC power for operation. It also draws 2 Amps of maximum backplane current at +5 Volts DC and 0.5 Amps of currents at +12 Volts DC. The IC697CMM742 Module supports the IEEE 802.2 Logical Link Control Class I LAN and the IEEE 802.3 media (C***A/CD Medium Access Control 10Mbps) LAN, which is capable of operating directly on the 10BaseT and 10Base2 media via the 10BaseT and 10Base2 network ports on the module.The IC697CMM742 Module has 3 network ports (a 10Base-T RJ-45 port, a 10Base2 BNC port, and the AUI port) that help to establish communication between the IC967 PLCs and Ethernet Local Access Network (LAN). The 15-pin RJ-45 network port and AUI port offers a choice of a 10BaseT, 10Base5, 10BaseF, 10Broad36, or 10Base2 medium with a user-supplied 802.3 LAN-compatible transceiver. The IC697CMM742 Module also has an RJ-11 Serial RS-232 local station manager port and a 15-Pin D-Type RS-485 software port. The 6-pin RJ-11 Serial RS-232 port is used for connecting a single terminal or a terminal emulator to access the station manager software over the Ethernet/IP network, while the 15-Pin D-type Serial software load port is used for connecting a PC running on the Logic Developer or VersaPro programming software to the module for a firmware update. The IC697CMM742 Module has 4 diagnostics and network LEDs which are the “MODULE OK,” “STATUS OK,” “SERIAL ACTIVE,” and “LAN ONLINE” LEDs that shows the module’s operation and network status updates.
