If the molecular chain of polyethylene is a complete linear structure, it should contain only 1-2 ch per 1000 carbon atoms, because in this ideal case, ch can only exist at both ends of the molecular chain. The existence of branched chains will inevitably affect the repeated folding and tight stacking of LLDPE molecular chains, resulting in the decrease of crystallinity and density. The existence of branched chain will not only affect the density of LLDPE, but also affect the fluidity of LLDPE melt. The above structural characteristics of LLDPE determine that LLDPE has a series of excellent properties, such as chemical inertia, good toughness and low temperature resistance, excellent dielectric and electrical insulation, excellent solvent resistance, etc., but the mechanical properties other than toughness are not very high.
