1、抛光：表面高光泽。抛光可能会持续很长的时间也可能不要，主要是看石材的类型。花岗岩、大理和石灰石通常是抛光处理,并且需要不同的维护以保持其光泽。
2、磨光：磨光面看起来很“软”，刮痕明显，无需过多的护理。大理石、石灰石及板岩适合作磨光处理。
3、酸洗：表面有小的腐蚀痕迹。酸洗面刮痕较少，外观比磨光面更为质朴。大部分的石头都可以酸洗，但是***常见的是大理石和石灰石。酸洗也是软化花岗岩光泽的一种方法。
4、剁斧：表面不光滑。初步切割之后，对石材进行进一步的加工以消除明显的锯痕，但其效果达不到磨光之后的效果。花岗岩、大理石及石灰石可以这样处理，通常是在定制的情况下。
