3、安装基础：要求土质坚实牢固。
4、水泵安装时，必须保证泵轴的水平位置。
5、进水管末端应浸入水平面以下一米左右，但须离开泥底半米左右。
6、水泵安装好后，计算允许吸上高度和扬程，在水位稳定的条件下，要求为规定数量值的0.8~1.2倍范围，否则水泵不会正常运行

水泵是输送液体或使液体增压的机械。它将原动机的机械能或其他外部能量传送给液体，使液体能量增加，主要用来输送液体包括水、油、酸碱液、乳化液、悬乳液和液态金属等。
也可输送液体、气体混合物以及含悬浮固体物的液体。水泵性能的技术参数有流量、吸程、扬程、轴功率、水功率、效率等；用户选择水泵时，***是到农机部门认可的销售点，一定要认清生产厂家。根据不同的工作原理可分为容积水泵、叶片泵等类型。容积泵是利用其工作室容积的变化来传递能量；叶片泵是利用回转叶片与水的相互作用来传递能量，有离心泵、轴流泵和混流泵等类型。
汽蚀现象
手动隔膜泵水泵的汽蚀是由水的汽化引起的，所谓汽化就是水由液态转化为汽态的过程。水的汽化与温度和压力有一定的关系，在一定压力下，温度升高到一定数值时，水才开始汽化；如果在一定温度下，压力降低到一定数值时，水同样也会汽化，把这个压力称为水在该温度下的汽化压力。如果在流动过程，某一局部地区的压力等于或低于与水温相对应的汽化压力时，水就在该处发生汽化。汽化发生后，就会形成许多蒸汽与气体混合的小汽泡。当汽泡随同水流从低压区流向高压区时，汽泡在高压的作用下，高压水以极高的速度流向这些原汽泡占有的空间，形成一个冲击力。金属表面在水击压力作用下，形成疲劳而遭到严重***。二是水泵方面的原因：选用动力不配套，小马拉大车，电动机长时间过载运行，使电动机温度过高。因此把汽泡的形成、发展和以致材料受到***的部过程，称为汽蚀现象。
