Overview
The ABM program of asynchronous motors comprises the full range of model sizes from 56 - 160, each with a choice of standard lengths. It also features a large number of developments that h***e already been implemented and used with success. This is based on the great flexibility that is essential for the production of made-to-measure drives, individual winding design and the extruded aluminium housing for very compact drives are just two good examples of this.
ABM asynchronous motors are ***ailable as IEC standard motors, low-energy motors, built-on motors for gearboxes and tran***issi***, rotary field magnets, special-purpose motors and low voltage AC motors (specifically for use in battery-powered vehicles).

ABM SINOCHRON®Motors
ABMSINOCHRON®Motors are permanently excited synchronous motors, e.g. rotor speed matches the rotational frequency of the revolving stator field. In comparison to common induction motors they feature outstanding efficiency, high power density and compact dimensi*** and to conventional synchronous motors no encoder feedback for inverter or servo control operation is required.
SINOCHRON®Motor design features almost perfect sinusoidal distribution of the magnetic flux. With this unique propertySINOCHRON®Motors are perfectly suited for sensorless operation and offer an economical alternative to expensive servo drives. Concurrently they boast better dynamic beh***iour and efficiency than induction motors.
Simple rotor design, with internally located high performance magnets, allow for more economical manufacturing ofSINOCHRON®Motors than servo motors without major impact on power density and control beh***iour.
Sinusoidal magnetic flux minimizes troublesome cogging and improves rotational beh***iour and noise emissi*** over conventional permanent magnet motors.
SINOCHRON®Motors h***e been specifically developed for two target markets:
• Tougher application demands (dynamic beh***iour, positioning, efficiency etc.)
require replacement of existing induction motors (power grid or inverter
operated)
or
• Market pressure to replace servo drives with lower cost alternative but
comparable performance capability.
