This heat exchanger is a type of"hybrid cooling system", combining the advantages of plate heat exchangers with the benefits of shell & tube heat exchangers. The design of this cooler can be as compact as a plate exchanger as it has a greatly enlarged heat exchange surface on the oil side. This is achieved by fins (plates) which are routed over the water tubes, forming a metallic bond with these tubes.

It also retains the advantages of the shell & tube heat exchanger on the water side, as the large, ***ooth pipes keep it almost entirely clean, whereas the ribbed design of the plate heat exchanger tends to attract dirt and get clogged up. What is more, this type of cooling system is also easy to clean in comparison with a plate heat exchanger.

Further advantages include its greater compressive strength and the rare opportunity to build in an internal non-return valve.

Standard Shell & Tube-cooler

This shell & tube heat exchanger is a standard product for use in special applicati***.

The production here can be achieved very flexible. The heat exchanger can be produced totally or in parts in brass or stainless steel. The diameters of water pipes can be more variable and manifold connecti*** on both sides can be realized. Also individual certificati*** (A***E, TEMA, TÜV, etc. ) can be ordered.

The UKCG (screwed in-tank cooler) is an complete new product for gear box cooling and other tank coolings where only a low cooling capacity is needed.

The AM-FS (safety heat exchanger) protects against overpressure as well as corrosion effects. Any leaks in the bank of tubes are indicated at once by digital pressure switches.

Starting up plant and machines from cold is c***iderably easier when the oil in the tank has been pre-heated to a set minimum temperature. Adding a electric oil pre-heater in a bypass coolerfilter system solves the problem of pre-heating the oil and prevents damage to the hydraulic system caused by excessive start-up pressure. Conversely, a heating rod built into the tank has the disadvantage that the oil volume in the tank is not clearly defined as it flows around the heating rod.


With the electric oil pre-heater the oil flow is controlled and the heating capacity can thus be calculated and controlled precisely.
