The Geislinger Compowind® coupling protects the drivetrain of wind turbines.

The Geislinger Compowind® coupling is based on more than 20 years’ experience developing maintenance free and weight-s***ing couplings and shafts lines for demanding marine applicati***.

The Geislinger Compowind® is installed between the rotor and the gearbox and therefore protects the drivetrain by a significant reduction of non-torque loads. The advanced carbon fibre reinforced composite membrane coupling exactly meets the demands of wind turbine applicati***: The weight-s***ing design does not add unnecessary mass to the nacelle and guarantees low and almost linear restoring forces. The fibre-reinforced membranes are designed to withstand high shock loads due to wind gusts. Furthermore the Geislinger Compowind® offers electrical insulation as well as resistance to heat, frost, salt water and oil.

The Compowind®’s innovative carbon fibre reinforced membranes provide an outstanding long service life and increase the system’s reliability significantly. Being a lifetime-calculated product, there is no need for maintenance or lubrication subsystems.

The use of advanced materials and our state-of the art manufacturing methods give wind turbine producers a competitive lead in the race for weight and service life optimization.
