AM2-De是用于中继系统中理想的负载测试，业务发生，通信路由测试，呼叫特性测试及呼叫建立分析设备。该产品由4条脉冲码调制(PCM)随路信令(CAS)中继线接口到用户或中心局交换机的数字中继测试设备，可模拟***控制的呼叫业务负载。它具有极强的用户可编程性，使该设备可以测试现代中继系统中所具有的各种典型复合呼叫情况，像语音信箱，***卡呼叫以及其他特征呼叫的应用。它能够模拟真实线路的情况，进行大话务量的电话呼叫，并统计呼叫建立时间、接通率等参数。
AM2-De轻便灵活，便于携带，使用容易，并装有高分辨率场致发光(EL)显示器。设备操作全菜单驱动，用户使用四个菜***择键和四个光标(箭头)键做菜***择。前面板上的键钮或可选的外部键盘使用户可以安装、编程和操作控制AM2，使其完成相应的测试。前面板上的多颜色LED指示灯瞬间指示每一中继线中每个通道的状态。不同的颜色指示通道挂机/摘机状态，通道是否是始发或终接呼叫，以及通道是否有故障。呼叫可以随机方式或同步方式产生，由用户自主设定。呼叫过程可完全由用户程控，可以包括基本单向业务，呼叫转换或复合用户呼叫特征的测试。
AM2备有工厂写好的用于标准呼叫过程测试的呼叫源文件， 这些公用测试所需的测试源文件可由Ameritec公司得到。用户可以拷贝和编辑这些源文件，或者建立新的测试交换机呼叫性能的呼叫源文件。所以用户可以很容易地在此基础上编制具有特殊性能的测试源文件。
