闸阀有三种阀盖设计形式.***种是螺栓式阀盖,按这种设计形式设计的阀门,其阀体与阀盖用螺栓螺母连接,缠绕式垫片(316夹柔性石墨制造)/金属密封环(中高压时使用)密封.客户有特殊要求时也可采用金属环连接.第二种设计形式是焊接式阀盖,按这种设计形式的阀门,其阀体与阀盖用螺纹连接,全焊密封.客户有特殊要求时也可采用透焊连接.第三种是自密封阀盖,按这种设计形式设计的阀门,其阀体与阀盖用螺纹连接,内压自密环密封.
压力自密封闸阀是利用介质本身的压力来达到密封的目的，压力愈大，产生的密封力亦愈大，密封亦就愈可靠。阀盖的外径上具有光滑锥面，锥面上紧贴着自紧密封圈，密封圈的外径与阀体紧贴。压力自密封应有足够的预紧力，以便当阀内压力不高时，亦能达到密封。这个预紧力可由拧紧支承压盖的螺纹来产生，亦可采用几个螺栓的结构。
